Sorting countryName in alphabetical order

Could anyone help me out with using orderBy parameter in GeoNames Web API. I would like to order the country names in alphabetical order in a dropdown. 

I'm using the following url to fetch the response. But it's not ordering the country names. Is the correct?

http://api.geonames.org/countryInfoJSON?formatted=true&lang=en&sortOrder=countryName&style=full&username=.....
