postcode data update frequency? (especially GB!)

Hi, 

I can't find any information on how often the postcode data is updated from the various source websites (typically governmental websites). Looking here http://download.geonames.org/export/zip/ everything has a file date of today, but that could just mean the files were copied (but not updated today). I need to build something using all countries in the geonames postcode database but it's also important that the GB data is up-to-date. UK code point open postcodes are updated on the ordnance survey website every 3 months http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/business-and-government/products/code-point-open.html but the copyrights on the postcode data in geonames is 2010 - does this mean the GB postcode data is from 2010? Should I use all other countries data from geonames but use GB codepoint directly from the ordance survey?
