Difference between API and WS

Hi,

What is the difference between http://ws.geonames.org/search and  http://api.geonames.org/search

It seems that the ws is the deprecated API (or am I mistaken?)

What about the results in terms of accuracy?

The ws.geonames.org domain is old and deprecated. The ws domain has
higher load and consequently slower response time.
You should definitely migrate to api.geonames.org, it has newer data,
faster response time and higher uptime.
The obsolete domain will sooner or later be switched of completely.
