Colleagues,

 

I wish to alert you to a new paper that provides a simulation-based comparison of various landmark-based and various surface-based approaches for shape quantification and analysis. Here we generated samples of 3D surface meshes that differed by known amounts, quantified their shape through various methods, and compared the inferred patterns from those methods to the actual (simulated truth) shape patterns.
