In my trig class we are working on graphing trig functions. I have a good visual for the students but I would like to use pi units on the radius instead of the rationals that are currently there. Does anyone know how to change this setting? (ie is currently 1,2,3 i want pi/2,pi, 3/2pi etc.)

Thanks

Hi Joshua,

Greg Clarke has created some tools to do this. My resources page at http://mathfest.wikispaces.com/Resources+for+The+Geometer%27s+Sketchpad lists the location as http://mathfest.wikispaces.com/space/showimage/fnUberSketch2.gsp . The collection of function and graphing tools is quite remarkable. The Pi Tools should help you do what you want.

Cheers,

Ross

Joshua,

We have a sketch, Trig Coords.gsp, that does a pretty decent job with trig coords on the x-axis. (If you're subscribed to Sketchpad LessonLink, this sketch is included with the activity "Sums of Sinusoidal Functions." If not, email me and I can send it to you.)
