I have some ideas about developing on top of GeoIQ (see http://bit.ly/fPXnXm)
, but first wanted to play around with some things.

To start - I have Microsoft Excel 2003, and I don't seem to be able to
see where the Excel Toolbar (http://developer.geoiq.com/tools/excel-
toolbar/) is located after I set it up.

What am I overlooking?

Thanks,
Nitin

The Excel toolbar is only supported on Excel 2007 and (I think) 2010.

Hi Nitin,

Which operating system are you using?

Thanks,

Kate

Yep, I'm using Excel 2003 and Windows 7. Sounds like I need a more
recent version of Excel, which was mentioned...

thanks,

So, I just installed Microsoft Office 2010, and installed geoiqexcel.
It appears that the add-in exists, but it is not there in the way it is pictured here:

please help!!

I know this is a really boring question, but I REALLY need help with
it :)

I am stuck here, and it is important for me to be able to see what
this tool can offer.

Again:
I installed Microsoft Office 2010, and installed geoiqexcel.
It appears that the add-in exists (I saw it upload when the dialogue
for excel came up, and see it there when I click "File > Options > Add-
Ins), but it is not appearing as a menu item in the way it is pictured
here:
http://developer.geoiq.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/excel-11.png

Thanks,
Nitin

Hi Nitin,

I have a machine with Office 2010 on it at the office. I'll give the toolbar a try tomorrow and see if I can figure out what's going on.

... so I just looked at that list. I clicked in Excel Options:

Add-Ins > Manage: COM Add-ins

and it said for the Geocommons Add-in:

"Load behavior: Not Loaded. A runtime error occurred during the
loading of the COM Add-in."

I just ran the installer with my instance of Excel 2010 and it seems
to be running okay. I ran setup.exe rather than the .msi and I also
installed it only for myself. I have had problems with other add-ins
in which they would not install properly if I tried doing so for "all
users".

I am not sure if this will help you as it seems to be working for me
on the first try but I can verify that the toolbar seems to be working
in Excel 2010.

Hey - I had to make some changes to my computer, and was away from it
for a while, and finally got back to trying this again, and it is
still not working.

When I go to:

Excel Options > Add-Ins > Manage: COM Add-ins

it said for the Geocommons Add-in:

"Load behavior: Not Loaded. A runtime error occurred during the
loading of the COM Add-in."

I did install the .exe setup, and chose "Just Me"

I am now using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit, and installed Excel 2010.
I've tried it on other computers too, and have received the same errors.

Again, please help!

Thanks,
Nitin

Hi Nitin,

I have an updated version of the toolbar to try. I will get it up
somewhere that you can download it today.

Thanks,

Kate
