support for single index query?

Hi!

I can't read Japanese, but am interested to understand geohex. looks
very interesting.

I'd like to know if geohex supports single index query like in geohash
or geocell.

I'm Hal. Supporting GeoHex project and developing Ruby geohex-gem.

You can search POIs which is included in specified hexagonal area by
using single query(GeoHex code), like GeoHash can.

Lat/Lon coordinates can be coded into GeoHex. So you can keep the
coordinates into your database with GeoHex code.
Then you can query the coordinates by using GeoHex code.

There are some differences between GeoHex and GeoHash. In this case,
you can get POIs of hexagonal area. It means you can get POIs which
has almost same distance in all range because hexagon is nearer to
circles than quadrangles.

Sa2da, a creator of GeoHex, has almost completed it's specification,
we will soon publish documents.
