Hanging problems with 0.8.x

After a few complaints and after some testing on my own, Geohash Droid
0.8.2 appears to have a freezing/crashing (and sometimes rebooting)
bug. In fact, this might be going back to the 0.8.0 release. Huh.

I'll try to narrow down the exact cause (though I and a couple testers
think we've got a pretty good idea where it is), but it might be a few
days until I get it sorted out. Chances are I'll have to at least
temporarily take out the background service.

In the meantime, as a workaround, the main website (http://
code.google.com/p/geohashdroid/) has an older version from before
0.8.0 linked on the front page. That version should work without much
problem, though you won't have Globalhashing yet.

I'll let everyone know when I've got a possible fix.

There we go. Version 0.8.3-pre1 is now on the website. It should, in
effect, be exactly the same as 0.8.2, just without the background
service (that is, it has all the features from 0.8.0 to 0.8.2 that
didn't rely on the service). If I can get someone to test it out to
make sure it's working right and that I didn't miss anything, I can
get it out to the Marketplace quickly.
