Version 0.8.0 is coming soon, just as soon as I have the time to put
some finishing touches on it (work's gotten a bit heavy the past few
weeks). The major new feature of 0.8.0 will be that the tracking part
stays up as a background service so you can take phone calls, run
other apps, etc, all without it stopping and having to figure out
where you are again when you return. This'll also allow me to finally
get tracklog building in later (I couldn't figure out what to do with
those if it stopped tracking any time a call came in), as well as the
home screen widget later than that.
For the curious, and if you've been following SVN, the things left
are:
* Making sure MainMap no longer takes any location data from
AutoZoomingLocationOverlay, instead taking it all from GeohashService.
* Finding a way to ensure that if the service is active it never goes
to the main menu (you need to explicitly go back from the map or use a
quit option, both of which do the same thing).
* Making an image for the notification bar.
* Making a better notification view.
There's also a bunch of minor bugs fixed, including one rare case
which I think fixes the cache corruption issue. I'll get a 0.8.0-pre1
package up later tonight, but, as usual, beware of pre-release
packages, as they're just for testing purposes. This one moreso than
usual.
