Dear GEOGLOWS colleagues,

We would like to share a new funding opportunity from a GEO sister initiative that may be of interest to many in our community.

The GEO Mountains Small Grants Call (2026–2027) is now open, offering competitive grants of up to CHF 10,000 for projects focused on mountain monitoring, data, and information. Priority will be given to projects in the following regions:

Andes
Central Asia
East Africa
South Caucasus
Hindu Kush Himalaya

GEO Mountains is a GEO Work Programme Initiative co-led by the Mountain Research Initiative and the National Research Council of Italy, and plays an important role in strengthening Earth observation and environmental information in mountain regions — many of which face critical water security and hydrologic data challenges.

We encourage GEOGLOWS partners, collaborators, and community members working in these regions to review the call and consider applying.

Deadline for proposal submission:
20 February 2026, 23:59 CEST (via the online form linked on the call webpage)
