Hello,

A recent conversation over on the GSAK forum pointed me to gpigen.  POILoader was not getting the job done and gpigen was suggested as an alternative.

The problem with POILoader is that it could not handle the large files I was generating with the Nuvi Macro. This gpx file has approximately 280,000 caches in it and the gpx file is approximately 600 megabytes.  There are about 230,000 traditional caches in the file.

gpigen did not complete with an out of memory error.  As it is a 32 bit program this is not really a surprise to me.

Is there a 64 bit version available that would not have this memory limit?

Thanks.

Charles

Hello,

Sorry, GpiGen is not designed for this extremly large GPX files due
in-memory output data assembling. You can create very huge GPX files, but
one GPI category must fit available memory. Try to use smaller GPX files,
or divide them into more GPI categories.

Yes, is possible to totaly rewrite the generator, or maybe is possible to
convert it into x64 platform (but I am using libraries without x64 support
now!), but all need a lot of my time.

Just remember, GpiGen is my free-time experiment. I can analyze, what I
can do for you, but not immediately. Sorry.

Lukas.
