Hey Mike,

For some reason, I cannot locate your email address, but wanted you to get this message, so hopefully it will come through this way.

Dear Social Theorists,

I hope this finds everyone well.

As you may recall from our final meeting, both Elizabeth and many of us would like to see Social Theory become a standard course offering in the Geography Dept here at CU. Why? Well, let me count the ways...

Actually, what we need to do to make this happen is to collectively count the ways. More precisely, we need to assemble some testimonials as to the tremendous value of this course. Our Grad Student Representatives will then bring this conviction as a proposal to the faculty in an upcoming meeting. The faculty can then take it up themselves and, hopefully, decide/vote/do whatever they do to formalize the course as a standard offering in the department.

So, how can you help? Please email me and Caitlin Ryan with a brief thought/sentiment as to why this course is valuable. How does it support your research? Why should it be offered every year? Why should everyone in the department take it? Something along those lines, please.

Also, please continue to talk about this course with your classmates, friends, and colleagues in Geography as well as (in fact especially) outside of the department. We need to maintain a critical mass of interested students to make this a viable project.

Thanks for your help. Please write me and Caitlin soon. It'll just take a minute...

Cheers,
Galen
