Hi all,

As we discussed the first day of class, October 1 will be an optional class to consider Antonio Gramsci's work. We're going to read two selections from Gramsci's The Prison Notebooks: "The Modern Prince" and the first section of "The Study of Philosophy" ("Some Preliminary Points of Reference"). In the Hoare and Smith 1999 translation, this comes to about 160 pages of reading. This edition of the Prison Notebooks is available as a 2-week electronic download from the Boulder Public Library.

Please let me know over the next couple days if you will be joining us for this discussion.

Thanks!
Lindsay

Hi All,

I only had two takers for the Gramsci session, so I'm going to cancel. If people are interested later in the term, or even in the spring, we can revisit this then.

Thanks!
Lindsay
