Anchored to the ocean floor, the curtain would act as a physical barrier, limiting the flow of warm seawater that melts the ice shelf from below.

Teams from Cambridge University, the University of Chicago, New York University, Dartmouth College, the Alfred Wegener Institute, NIVA, Aker Solutions, and the University of Lapland’s Arctic Centre are involved in the effort.”
