Dear members of the geoengineering modeling research consortium,
As previously communicated, we will be holding GMRC Lightning Talks in 2021, the first of which will take place at 11 am to 12:30 pm Eastern Time on Wednesday January 6th [REGISTER HERE TO ATTEND]. The topic will be “Existing and upcoming global-scale geoengineering simulation datasets”. Our goal is to provide an overview of geoengineering simulation output datasets which will be available for analysis in the near future, create opportunities for collaboration, and identify areas where opportunities are being missed because of oversights in output specification. We have four confirmed speakers:
Each speaker will be given 5 minutes of uninterrupted speaking time in order to maximize the time available for discussion, followed immediately by questions. There will also be an open discussion once the final Q&A is complete.
If you are interested in speaking at this or any future events, or would like to suggest a topic for a future lightning talk, please e-mail us at gmrc.stee...@gmail.com making sure that “GMRC lightning talks” is in the subject line.
The lightning talks are designed to promote discussion and communication within the community, so please distribute this invitation to any and all who you think might be interested, both within and outside the US. However, registration is required – please go to this link to register for January’s meeting. Future meetings will be communicated by this mailing list, so please also encourage people to sign up so that they hear of future talks.
Regards,
The Geoengineering Modeling Research Consortium Steering Group
