I want to bring your attention to a major all-day event I am co-hosting in San Francisco on April 21st called
Stabilize Earth.
This will be the first major public forum for the "climate stabilization" framework I and others have
written about. What is stabilization? It is the paradigm of stabilizing Earth sysems that face tipping point risks so that we maintain societal capacity to continue with the long march towards decarbonization and carbon dioxide removal. We believe stabilization is the next major response, after mitigation, adaptation, and carbon removal.
We have an incredible lineup of speakers, panels, and lightning talks from people directly working on climate interventions, including:
- Dakota Gruener, Reflective
- Neal Stephenson, author of Termination Shock
- Ross Centers, Planetary Sunshade Foundation
- Phil Duffy, Spark Climate
- Joshua Elliott, Renaissance Philanthropy
- Sasha Post, Outlier Projects
- Rob Jackson, Stanford
- Charlotte DeWald, Arctic Stabilization Initiative
- Augustus Doricko, Rainmaker
- Luke Iseman, Make Sunsets
- Ryan Orbuch, Lowercarbon
- and more
I truly believe this event has the potential to be a turning point in building momentum for climate interventions, but only if you all and everyone else in this field is present and participating in the conversation. Please join us on Tuesday April 21st.
Thanks,
