Hi,
I am having trouble trying to import via the ogrinspect method
described in the wiki a shape file with non-ascii variable names in
the dbf.
Though ogrinspect allows one to specify the encoding of the ascii
strings *in* the records, I saw no way of dealing with non-ascii
variable names.
Here is what happens:
Ogrinspect mangles the variable names when extracting their names to
generate the mapping dictionary for the load.py script. But since the
actual variable names in the shapefile remain unaltered, when you run
load.py it say it can't find variable named "mangled_string" in the dbf.
any suggestions of how to handle this problem?
