I've created a roadmap on the wiki outlining the new features and fixes
for the 1.1 release:
http://code.djangoproject.com/wiki/GeoDjango1.1
I've organized into sections, and appointed 'contacts' based on patch
and ticket submissions. Feel free to edit yourself out if you don't
want to be a 'contact' on particular issue. In fact, edit anything you
want -- that's why I placed it in the wiki.
Unfortunately, according to the Django 1.1 roadmap [1], the beta will be
released in late February -- around the same time I will be taking the
Texas Bar Exam (Feb. 24-26). Thus, my time will become increasingly
scarce and I may become difficult to get a hold of within the next 7-8
weeks.
However, significant process has already been made -- e.g., I've already
merged in aggregation support and the work for SpatiaLite has been
divided up into appropriate tickets. Because of our 'head start', so to
speak, I have high confidence that we will be able to implement the new
features and fix most of the outstanding tickets on the page. Moreover,
I'll be finished with plenty of time to spare before the final release
in mid-March in order to polish and shepard tickets that patch outside
of django.contrib.gis.
Comments, questions, etc. are welcome in this thread.
Best Regards,
-Justin
