Dear Geodesic Dome Community
I hope this message finds you well.
As a fellow enthusiast of geodesic structures and sustainable innovation, I’m thrilled to introduce you to GeoWind – a vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) inspired by the elegance and engineering brilliance of geodesic geometry.
Our turbine uses a regular icosahedron frame as its core structural concept. This design not only ensures structural efficiency and aerodynamic balance, but also turns the turbine into a sculptural object – blending function and form, technology and art. We believe it resonates with the spirit of Buckminster Fuller’s vision: doing more with less.
Geodesic-inspired VAWT using a modular icosahedron structure
Designed for urban rooftops, off-grid locations, and developing regions
High torque performance at low wind speeds
Future integration with AI-based microclimate sensing and decentralized energy data collection
Available in portable sizes (6ft, 9ft) and larger installations up to 38ft
Works as both a power generator and a public art piece
We are currently preparing for exhibitions and outreach projects, where GeoWind will be presented not only as a renewable energy solution, but as an aesthetic, kinetic sculpture — what we call “wind art for a living planet.”
