I'm attaching another dihedral angle calculator, this one being specific to spherical geodesic domes. It takes a different approach to calculating the dihedral from the earlier Excel file I posted. I've written out the trig formulae in plain English -- or at least in plain "trigonese" :-). I've also included a diagram to show the normal running between the triangle circumcentre and the centre of the circumsphere. I hope this one does a better job of answering your how-to question.
