pattern thinking - book and more

Greetings all,

 We are on the verge of breaking a record for the most rain in one month ever...for my locale anyhow, closing in on over 12 inches of rain.  Yet we still have a week left, so we will see where we land...or float, as the case may be.

 In any case, I am led back to indoor work for now.  Some time ago, one of our list contributors suggested that this book was actually more useful than others mentioned in the discussion.  I was able to review a copy, and wanted to pass along the following leads.  There are several videos posted on the web site.  Several items are video of seminars that many of you might find very interesting.  Firstly, there is the material presented, but then there are also many references to ideas that Fuller gets credit for discovering/inventing. Unlike some of the more controversial originator claims he made, which were alleged to be exaggerations or pure plagiarism, some of the "genius" accolades from others become a bit more believable...and impressive.  Documentation of these are offered and reviewed in some of these materials.

An additional reference that might be of particular interest regarding self-supporting rotegrities and related structures. 

  Reciprocal Frame Architecture by Olga Popovic Larsen.

In particular, some formulas in Chapter 4 starting on page 37, regarding some of the angles and lengths around the intersection of beams.  In a general sense, the hub.   Perhaps some of you are already well aware of these calculations and/or could derive them on your own, but it does save time and effort when one can "cookbook" from work already well done.
