Hi everyone, hope you are well.

My digging has lead me to the rigid tensegrity aka deresonated tensegrity dome aka Bucky's last dome he was working on before his death.

Anyone know more about it and how to replicate it?  I can't tell if it is an optical illusion but the strut angles seem the same through-out...

The way the struts are connected seems very layman friendly.

There was the windstar one and there was a double dome that was done too.

Thanks for any help people may offer.

I found this while searching: http://wackel.home.comcast.net/~wackel/Geometry/WovenDomes.html

This appears to be similar geodesics.  I think it is interesting the struts are on small circles.

Hi Gerry, thank you, yes that certainly helps from my quick read.  Need to sit down with that link again when I'm less distracted.

Thanks again.

Normalson:

It looks like a good application of skinny PVC tubing.

For some reason I like the straight strut method Bucky (and who ever else who designed it) used.

it's neat how the pieces weave over and up and the triangle plywood pieces rest on another strut.

I did make a stardome last fall: https://simplydifferently.org/Star_Dome

I think that is the route I'd go if I were doing a pvc conduit one since it's really simple.

This is a pretty picture of the dome, which is on John Denver's Windstar property:

I had a really nice email conversation with John Warren who sent some relevant pictures of model's he made prior to Bucky's death.

The Indonesian Basket weavers intrigued Bucky according to John.

I'll have to spend some time copying some of the written info he shared with me.

Have a good one everyone
