Thanks for posting this. A few thoughts to share:
1) Consider expanding the definition and concept of a "hub". Generally, people think of a hub as a part in which you insert or otherwise connect struts in a radial arrangement.
So consider another concept, where the "part" is actually something that is attached to the ends of a strut, which allows struts to be connected together like the spokes of a wheel.
2) There is the ol' marketing triangle with three components: The company, the customer, and the competition. Pays to consider all three when making business decisions. Here is one such example, that supports that thinking, as one needs to know what's already out there before "inventing the past".

Although in our western world we have good access to pipe, tubing, lumber, etc., much of the world outside the USA has been working with bamboo for hundreds of years. As a renewable source of struts and material, it has a lot of assets, but is manufactured by nature, rather than human run factories.
