We made a 3/4 day trip to grab these two dashpoints that are only 17.5 miles (18 km) apart.
Dashpoint: GDFK-BUUM
Coordinates: 39.2271, -91.1433
Location: Pike County, MO, about 61 miles NW of home
Date/time: 15 Jul 2021 11:31 AM
Temperature: 79 F / 26.1 C
Closest approach: 78 ft / 24 meters
Our approach was down a gravel road, about 2/3 of a mile (1 km) barely wide enough for two vehicles. Fortunately, there was no one around. A short distance in, we went thru a section that had been washed out and a new culvert pipe had been installed under the road and then about 500 feet of the road itself was rebuilt over the new culvert. We arrived at the dashpoint where a another road went to our right, up a short hill and continuing across the fields. That road had a large wash out in the middle of it that would have been difficult to get thru. Fortunately, we were well within the scoring circle and stopped just past this washed-out side road. The road was sitting low, the short but steep slope on our right had a barbed wire fence along the top and tall grass in the field. The section to our left was heavily wooded.
Dashpoint: GDFK-BUUV

Location: Lincoln County, MO, about 46 miles NW of home
Date/time: 15 Jul 2021 12:56 PM
Temperature: 85 F / 29.4 C
Closest approach: 19 ft / 6 meters
This dashpoint was also down a gravel road and these two gravel roads were the only ones we were on all day. We drove down this one for 4 miles (almost 6.5 km) that included several right angle turns. We stopped just past a large lone tree on our right and next to a field of soybeans. The dashpoint was in the grassy area between us and the edge of the soybean field. There was a similar patch of soybeans on our left but there was no fence. A line of trees ran diagonally along the far edge of this field. There was not much else to notice here except the straight line of telephones poles running down the edge of this gravel road and a water tower for Troy, Missouri, several miles away.
