On Monday, 7/27 we headed out for what turned out to be an epic two journey. The main purpose of the trip was to celebrate a delayed Christmas with extended family. On the journey out, we visited four dashpoints.

We found this DP in suburban Cleveland in a grassy area next to the driveway for the First Assembly of God church. When we first got there, someone was working on the bushes around the grassy area. But when he left, I casually walked into the grassy area and zeroed out the point. There were a couple of cars at the church but the big parking lot was empty.
On 29 Jul, we took the Cog Railway to the summit of Mt. Washington, 6,288 feet and the tallest point in the northeast US. The average grade of the Railway is 25%. The steepest is 37% grade when the people at the front of the railcar are 14 feet higher that the people of the back of the railcar.
We headed down to Massachusetts for several days. On the way we got these dashpoints.

This dashpoint is in deep woods of mostly deciduous trees. It was a curvy and hilly road with no shoulder and there was a fair amount of traffic. A stunning double birch tree stood near GZ.

This DP was both easy and difficult. It covers the
It is close enough to the interstate highway to score. But the scoring circle only intercepted the west bound lanes in the far left lane. We exited I-93 from New Hampshire onto I-495 about 3.8 miles before the DP. I had to get into the left hand lane in hopes that I would get into the scoring circle. I handed the GPS to my wife who counted down the distance and when she announced it was under 300 feet, I knew we had it. The GPS didn’t record the closest point as shown in the summary above but it is still within the scoring circle. Traffic was heavy but not too bad, traveling at speed, around 70 mph. The median strip here was fairly wide and very green, tall grass and some trees.

After meeting with two of my brothers, we stopped at this point on our way to our hotel. I have forgotten how many roads in New England just seem to go nowhere but eventually somewhere. We went down several twisty hilly roads and all of a sudden found the DP. It was at a house mostly hidden by trees on the edge of a nice large pond. The house was modern architecture, painted gray. There was a separate garage close to the water.
