This dashpoint is located 20 meters off of Carrolton Road in California’s central valley somewhere west of Escalon and east of Manteca. About half a kilometer south is St. Patrick’s Catholic Church--I could hear their bells ring in the distance as I arrived at the dashpoint right at noon today.
To the east of the road, where the zero point lies, is an empty field that seems to have been plowed fairly recently. To the west of the road is an grove of almond(?) trees in neat rows stretching as far as I could see. From where I parked, near a telephone pole with a “8^” spray-painted on it, I was only 19 meters from the zero point, but didn’t want to go tromping through some farmer’s field just to get to the zero spot.
