Simple 80/20 solution already done. This is a surprisingly hard problem.
If someone knows an algorithm that works that would be easy to incorporate
into GeoCraft that would be great. I have plenty of ideas and prototypes
on my machine but nothing worthy of deploying.

New description:

Simple 80/20 solution already done. This is a surprisingly hard problem.
If someone knows an algorithm that works that would be easy to incorporate
into GeoCraft that would be great. I have plenty of ideas and prototypes
on my machine but nothing worthy of deploying.

Would also require histogram and rose diagrams of the lineaments.
