Hi list

This email is announcing the very first release of GeoAlchemy 2 (0.1),
which now available on pypi:

For those of you who haven't seen the email announcing the development
of GeoAlchemy 2, GeoAlchemy 2 is a rewrite of its predecessor, with
the following objectives:

- Simplify the GeoAlchemy internals by relying on new features added
to SQLAlchemy 0.8. See Mike Bayer's email [*] for more details.
- Improve the API, and provide constructs that are closer to
SQLAlchemy standards.
- Support PostGIS 2.

GeoAlchemy 2 currently doesn’t support other dialects than
PostgreSQL/PostGIS, and it is not clear whether it will ever support
other dialects.

The repository is here <https://github.com/geoalchemy/geoalchemy2/>
The doc is available on readthedocs:

Thanks to those who contributed to this release!
