I have installed Genymotion personal.  Different virtual devices download fine and open as they are meant to... however I am never prompted to "sign into Google".  Each virtual device I have tried only boots to the home screen and never asks me to sign into my Google account.

Google is not listed as an account to add within the virtual devices' "add accounts" in settings.

What be the answer captain?

Google Apps and ARM support was dropped with Genymotion 2.0 so none of the VMs come with the Play Store anymore. You can however install them manually if needed. All you need is the Android SDK installed and to follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48410918

"Google Apps and ARM support dropped" ..I think it is a very disappointing downgrade from AndroVM, you should write a Genymotion App store :-(

No point making a Genymotion app store. Installing GApps like I linked to above works fine, if you don't install ARM support then all the apps that show up in Google Play Store should work in Genymotion, if you install ARM support you'll see a lot more apps that may or may not work. That's just how it works for now.

Is there a way for Gapps to catetory the x86 android apps for easier
installation?

Thanks,
Jiancong

Just don't install ARM support, then you won't see anything but x86 apps. Google likes the auto-detect method more than the device specific categories method. If you have ARM support installed then by default all apps will try to use it instead of x86 unless the app is x86 only.

HI!

I think it could be very useful for dummies like me if you could publish a detailed guide about how to install gapps and the exact links to download the code . I have tried to download various unzippers with browser (no one working on x86) then unzipped a lot of gapps 4.3 versions on mac and then correctly transferred with drag & drop on Genymotion from Google search , but I'm unable to install them... :-(

Best regards. Alex

Ohhh! finally I managed to install Google Play following this simple videoguide: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCRNqCXGNK0 from Mohamed Shehab  (thank you, you must become an official Genymotion moderator!)
Genymotion site could embed this video or link it, to make life much easier to they beginner users ;-)

Just want to point out that if you had searched for "Genymotion Google Apps" or "Genymotion ARM" in Google you would have found the guides I made on XDA and Stackoverflow a while ago as the top results. For future reference here's a link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2528952
