Greetings. I am doing a bit of work on my 1940 London Simplex and need some advice on rod brake replacement pads. They are 2 inches long and pretty ordinary for mounting in the shoes. I don’t want to replace the whole unit just the rubber.

Just a quick check on ebay and Amazon comes up with these 2 least expensive options. $17 with holders (including shipping) on ebay, $30 pads only on Amazon (free shipping). I can order them and have them shipped to you direct if you don't have an account, you can pay me back at next year's Pepin ride.

Thanks Jon. The first ones with rounded mounting are not like mine. I have considered the ones that are 50mm with holders. I’m also thinking of cutting my own from rubber matting.

Gentlemen,
I have six pairs of stirrup style brake pads, all NOS, which I have no use for.
4 pairs are Pyramid brand (“Engineered in the UK, Made in Taiwan.”)
1 pair Fibrax
1 pair unbranded, but resemble Fibrax.

Free for pickup here, or for postage elsewhere.

Can we see a few more pictures of the bike? Looks very cool.
