Dear riders of the realm,
As the ride looms ever closer; let us take stock: Is your
steed intact, or is it currently posing as an archeological dig site beneath
the stairs? If the latter is true, no need to despair – reassembly is a fine
tradition among the great cyclists of yore. Should the exertion of your painstaking
refitting prove overwhelming, console yourself with a pint and the reassuring
thought that ‘preparation’ is more a state of mind than a mechanical certainty.
Other reminders and ramblings:
- For those arriving
early, our pre-ride festivities will be held at the Red Wing Brewery on
Friday at 6pm.
- Saturday morning
registration is at 7am; come on time to exchange the usual handshakes,
hugs, introductions, and stories (both true and otherwise) with those who
you haven’t seen since last year.
- A reminder that the
Anderson House is opening for us on Sunday morning with a lovely buffet
breakfast! Doors open at 7:30am and the proprietor, Becky, will be taking
cash at the door. If you plan on attending, shoot me an email so I can let
them know about how many of us they should expect.
- After breakfast, we
will plan to meet up at the park at 9am to depart.
- For those who just
can’t wait to see their old friends, we will be having the usual monthly meeting
(if you can really call it as such) tomorrow evening at Waldmann brewing
in St. Paul.
- One final update
will be sent out before we shove off!
Best along the path,
