As usual, we will gather at the Sheldon family farm on Sunday, August 9, set off on Monday morning and finish on Thursday, August 13.  For those unfamiliar with the tour, it is four days of riding and camping at city parks in Lanesburo, Harmony and Rushford.  We eat in restaurants.  The mileage is about 35-40 miles per day except for the last day which is 16 miles.  If interested, contact me here at Gentleman Cyclists if you do not have my phone number and/or email address.

I don't know if you are familiar with the Bicycle Farmer, but he did a video on u-tube of riding the Sparta-Elroy trail.  It doesn't look any better than when we last rode it.

Trail is paved. Last year a bridge burned down over Tank Creak closing the Great River Trail between Trempeleau and Onalaska with time to replace measured in years not months.

I did the Elroy-Sparta trail for the first time on the last two ays before they closed the tunnels for 2025 season and I thought the trail was fine. Being a newbie I was less critical. The WI DNR  started closing the tunnels at 8:00 AM a full day early because "the rental equipment was not available on a Saturday".  I had to do a bit more driving to stay ahead of the WI DNR and not find my return blocked because of a locked tunnel.

I am hoping to participate in this 5th Annual Sir Noel Robinson Root River Memorial Tour.

Yes, count me in as well!
Hopefully, no DNR Drama...
