Dear riders of the realm,
The days are getting longer, the bouts of snow are tentatively receding, and Bock ale is again making its appearance at the local pubs; all sure signs that winter’s grasp has begun to loosen. Like the sunbeams that have begun to find their way back through the dust-clogged windows of the shed, so should we make our way out to see how our Trusty Steeds have fared through the winter months. A little oil in the hub and some air in the tyres, and you’ll be ready to begin your annual training regimen.
Other nuts and bolts:
· Our roster boasts 59 Nutters on the registration list as of today.
· For those arriving early, Friday’s pre-ride libations will be at the Red Wing Brewery.
· Saturday dinner will be where you can find it again this year; there are many good options in Wabasha. We can then convene at the Hoppy Girl Brewery for an after-dinner beverage.
· The Anderson House has welcomed us in for Sunday morning breakfast this year! There will be a buffet including scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cinnamon rolls, hash browns, and fruit among other sundries. The proprietor, Becky, will take cash at the door ($13 a head). Kindly let me know if you plan to attend so I can give her a rough headcount.
· As usual, we will meet up at the campground after breakfast to load up the lorry and depart.
· There is planned construction on Wisconsin 35 between Maiden Rock and Stockholm. The start date is as of yet unknown, but if it does coincide with our ride we can expect to have one lane open.
More to come in a few weeks’ time.
Best along the path,
