Dear riders of the realm,

We are now but a fortnight away from indulging once again in that most dignified of pursuits: gentlemanly sport atop olde British iron. Whether your steed is polished to perfection or still sulking about in the shed, now is the time to coax it forth, adjust your trouser clips, and prepare for a weekend of cycling as it was meant to be: upright, unhurried, and delightfully conversational. The All-British Cycling Event approaches!

Our itinerary for the weekend:

• Friday evening (9/12) at 5:30pm we will have a pre-ride meet up at the Urban Growler. Come for the ale, stay for the banter.

• Saturday morning (9/13) we will gather in front of Merlin’s Rest. We will depart on the ride around 9am, so you won’t want to be late! Expect the usual stops (with a little construction around lunch) as we meander around the cities, returning for dinner at Merlin’s around 5:30pm.

• The Cycle Jumble will be held Sunday (9/14), starting at 9:30am, in the parking lot next to Bang Brewing; come with parts to sell, and maybe leave with even more than you came with.

• We will set off on the Gentleman’s Tour from Bang at 10:30am. Midway, the Gravity Race and Pastry Joust will ensue, followed by a scenic ride around Lake Como. Upon our return to Bang, we can toast to the weekend with a well-earned pint.

• In case you come late or get separated along the way, the maps for Saturday’s Ride and the Sunday’s Tour are linked here.

Hope to see you all in a few weeks’ time!

Best along the path,

Noah Holzer
