We will ride no bikes before their time. Obscure “Fast times at Ridgemont High” reference.

But, I need to build wheels for it. Of late, the U thinks I should be on a steady diet of 12 hour shifts, which, leaves me poorly motivated to build wheels. But, rest assured, what is done thus far looks pretty good.

Probably be on a Tourist on Sunday.

What, I got my International wiped down and aired up for the weekend.

I'll represent the 70s derailleur group with you on my newly remodelled 72 Professional for the Saturday ride. I started with a frame and parts I had around the house. I've collected Campy bits over the last year and it's now closer to original spec, except for the touring gears. It got a good shake down last weekend on the Saint Paul Classic ride.

Ric,
Generous in the extreme of you, but, I haven’t had time to order, or even figure out what length spokes I need. The hubs are a first gen S5 (threaded nail) and a high flange, sealed bearing front hub that says “Harris Cyclery”. The rims are good, old Sun CR-18s 27 X 1 1/4”. I think I have enough spoke nipples on hand. My spoke calculator was calling out two different length spokes for the rear rim, which, befuddled me, as there  is no dish and the flanges are identical.
Oh, yea, I have to wet sand and buff the clear coat, too. Ain’t happening for this event.
I start at 5:00AM tomorrow. We have 3 Journeymen out tomorrow, leaving little, old, me, to do any and all bindery operations in the in plant print shop at the University of Minnesota.
It will be a tough day.
Thanks, however.

Well, okay. Forget the lessons. I'm bringing the International anyhow and a story with it.
