This is a great question! Gentex's official dress code policy is listed
in the handbook as follows, "Gentex does not have a defined dress code
because we believe our team members will choose attire and hygiene that
promotes a safe, comfortable and positive image to our customers,
visitors and coworkers. All team members are expected to wear clothing
that is safe, job appropriate, and non-offensive to coworkers. If
additional guidance in proper and safe attire is necessary, managers
will discuss this with their team members". This plays out in most work
areas as Wade described, with most team leaders in production areas
wearing khakis or jeans with a nice shirt such as polo or button down.
Any interns who are working in the corporate offices area will see the
company culture is to dress more casual (dressy jeans with a business
professional shirt) Mondays & Fridays and then dressier throughout the
rest of the week. Hope that helps as you think of clothes to pack!
