I'm a new user doing the trial and trying to follow the instructions. Not easy to so far. Of immediate concern, no autofill prompt is showing up when I open certain apps, namely Netflix and Spotify, on my Android (Samsung Galaxy A5) phone. Looks like I did allow for 1password for autofill and accessibility permissions, and I find the instructions on the web site minimal. Can you please advise re: the Android apps and more complete set-up information in general for my PC, phone, and iPad? Need to decide if I'm going to purchase this, not great so far. Thank you kindly.

Hey @peri :)
In our case, we happened to upgrade to v7.3 for Android (from a previous v7.x) and the autofill stopped showing up for good.
Everywhere.
We tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app (on said phone running Android version 7) to no avail -while the autofill switch stays greyed-out with a notice reading "requires Android 8 or later". The accessibility switch is active tho.
Sure @peri thank you for your response.
Given that said phone will stay on Android version 7, what would cause the lesser functionality?
We do not care about autofill at this stage as it not supported. We do care about functionality that we had and somehow is lost though.
Any thoughts?
Hi @CrowdedTent. The Autofill framework was first supported in Android 8, which is why that's required. To be clear, this is across the board on Android, and not our own limitation. Android 7 does not have support for Android's Autofill framework, so it won't work there.
I'm not sure what you mean about the functionality being lost, though, as this has always been the case. However, Accessibility filling works very similarly to Autofill, so by enabling and using that, most people would not notice the difference. If you had been able to fill on this Android 7 device in the past, then you would have been using Accessibility.
so I've been having the same issue, before updating to 1password 7.3 on chrome with accessibility turned on, there was no pop up of the option to fill with 1password like the second image
I tried updating to the beta but no luck
I also tried the 1password keyboard option but that has the issue of not being able to detect the page from the browser
@emet09 It looks like Chrome is being detected as an app for you, rather than a browser. Can you try rebooting your device? If you continue having trouble, please let us know the make and model of your device, as well as what version of Android you're using.
Exactly @peri
By erratically I mean, like @emet09 mentioned above, it used to work properly (provide the pop-up so that I can use my fingerprint verification and then show me the details from my keychain so that I could go ahead with selecting them to fill in) up to v7.3
By "upgrading" to 1password v7.3 I lost the option to downgrade and the pop-up might appear whenever it likes.
Yikes!
This should be shared with the dev team at 1password indeed.
The documentation here: Android TV Remote - Home Assistant
helpfully lists a few example URLs to trigger apps such as Netflix to load. I want a button that opens Jellyfin amongst others. How do I find the right URL to use?
So here it goes for Jellyfin: right now it is not supported due to some limitations in the server config. But there are two issues pending in the Jellyfin repo, where this is discussed. You can find them here:
Since yesterday the Netflix app cast icon disappeared in both my Android phone and laptop, but works fine in other apps like Youtube, Amazon Prime, etc. I've been using this feature for years and nothing changed since then (besides regular Android updates)
Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. What did Netflix tell you? It could be account-related or the limit on the number of streaming devices. Apparently, your Chromecast device is working as intended, as all other apps are working fine. I suggest you contact them to dig deeper into this matter. Also, you can try to do a factory reset and see if that makes any difference.
Just bumping this up to make sure that you've seen our responses. I'll lock this thread if we won't hear from you in 24 hours. Feel free to create a new one if you have more questions or have other concerns in the future.
Hi there ClaudioE,
Have you tried the steps recommended? We want to make sure everything is sorted out on your end. Let me know if that did the trick or not, so we can try something else.
Many thanks,
Lovely
I have an 49XD8099 with Android 6.0.1. Simply put, to watch "The OA" from Netflix in HDR is unbearable. It's like if they added a wall of fog. Disabling the HDR the image improves considerably, still being a bit washed out. Other shows, when watched in HDR, don't look better either, so much that I decided to have a video mode with HDR off for Netflix only.
I must says that the HDR quality of various new Netflix videos quite improved. I am not sure if the Android TV updates and/or the fact that I watch Netflix via Apple TV 4K helped as well. So, to me it isn't a big issue anymore.
Secondly - im just going though a few posts that have been missed recently and found this one - Reading through, I am unsure on how to help you to be honest - other than suggesting that you choose the non-hdr version of OA
HDR on TVs that doesn't meet the HDR specifications will always look awful and never will be HDR. Just like DD with just 2 speakers is not exactly a DD. And the idea of marketing TVs as HDR while they are not is just a bad idea. Sure, they can process HDR signal but display can't reproduce it in a way that it should look.
I believe it is possible on some 4K HDR content on Netfix.... Or was it Amazon, im now unsure. Basically you could choose the 1080p version over 4K HDR version instead due to it being in another category. I did it not long ago.
I couldn't find any way for Netflix. It is also not possible on a system level to disable HDR. At least not for ATV1. Maybe @Jecht_Sin or someone else has an idea how to achieve that. I think on ATV2 there is an option, see above quote and link to FlatpanelsHD.
The quality standards that is followed by netflix is just great and appreciate teh type of contetn being posted on their sites!!! thumbs up. [Link removed by moderator] is also similar to netflix where one can watch movies, cartoons, daily soaps anytime they feel like.!!
- After posting this I had a chat with Netflix, and no, there are no options to disable HDR in the player. The most one can do, from the settings in the web browser, is to reduce the available bandwidth, so that it will stream at 1080p. - The other option is to simply disable the HDR in the settings for a channel, but that disables it everywhere.
Still the issue is mostly with "The OA" (which I could just avoid watching for this reason and for the other more important reason that it is a stupid show. What a waste of time). Other HDR videos in Netflix look much better, and "Grand Tour" in Amazon looks amazing. So do the HDR demo downloaded from the internet at full bit rates (and they look awful with HDR disabled).
I must also say that Netflix streaming quality, in my opinion, can be disappointing. Many UHD videos look granulated. I have a fiber connection so it isn't a bandwidth issue. I am honestly a bit surprised. Even Youtube videos look better!
Sorry, sometime the English words flips in my brain. I meant an image mode. Then I have got also confused with the inputs (like HDMI 2 vs App (Video) ). Anyway, from Android changing the HDR to NO in a image mode (like custom) it puts HDR NO in all modes.
I have been using an ODROID-C2 with LibreELEC for quite a while, but was frustrated by the lack of Amazon Prime Video and Netflix support. I was also using a wireless keyboard/mouse to control it, which led to the disapproval from the spouse, so I wanted a proper TV remote control to control both the TV (power/volume) and the ODROID-C2.
This procedure is to install not only Kodi, but also Youtube TV, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and some individual Channel Apps. It also helps with installing apps from the Google Playstore. Although Netflix would not install from the Playstore one can download the APK and install that. The Remote Control configuration took the most time, because I could not find a single online tutorial detailed the entire process. Hopefully this article will help others with that.
The first step is to install Android on a Flash Card. Android for C2 can be downloaded from At the time of this article, v3.5 is the latest version, and that is what I used. Download the image, uncompress it and install it to the flash card using Etcher, which is available for many operatins systems, or win32diskimager, which runs on Microsoft Windows, or the Linux dd utility. More information may be found at
Install the flash card into the ODROID-C2 plugged into a TV via HDMI along with a USB keyboard/mouse and power on. It takes a few minutes, but eventually you should end up with a shiny new Android system, and the mouse should allow you to navigate.
The first step after Android is running is to adjust the overscan on the screen. I found on my TV that all the edges were missing. I could not see the notification bar at the top and the soft-keys at the bottom were mostly truncated. This is easily fixed by using the "ODROID Utility" app. Through this utility you can set the resolution (the default "autodetect" also works for me), use the arrows to adjust overscan and turn off the blue LED, which blinks to distraction. After adjusting the settings in this app, you must click "Apply and Reboot", which will reboot the system.
Selecting Download will pull a ZIP file into the Download folder. This ZIP file needs to be treated as an Android Update, and hence is loaded using the same Odroid Utility App used to update the Overscan and Blue LED above. Run the Odroid Utility app, and click on the upper right corner (three dots). The menu present will have an option "Package install from storage" which is clicked. On the next page, choose "File Manager" and navigate to the Download folder where you will select the open_gapps ZIP file. You will be prompted to proceed, after which time the odroid will reboot and the Google Apps will be installed.
