Hi ya folks,

The summer's here, and it means more biology course offerings at
Genspace (that you've all been undoubtedly waiting for). The first one
up is Dr. Ellen Jorgensen's biotechnology crashcourse where she covers
most of the techniques used in a conventional molecular biology at our
BSL1 located in Brooklyn. Here's what she has to say:


Hi All,

The next Biotech Crash Course will be held at Genspace on July 10, 17,
and 24 from 3PM to 7PM. We focus on hands-on training in all the major
technologies that facilitated genetic engineering and the biotech
revolution, including PCR, cutting and splicing DNA, gel
electrophoresis, and bacterial transformation. The class will give you
a taste of life in the lab, and is recommended as preparation for
designing and building your own genetic circuits in our Synthetic
Biology Course. The fee is $300 (there are two student slots per class
