Hi everyone,

This is excellent and motivating to hear that all these works are starting to happen, connecting to education and youth. Hope your project goes well B!!

I just finished a 4 day NextGEN workshop using your process work Om and Tom, but connecting it with our context. It went really well, the youth became really close quickly, and got into that place of gratitude and despair deeply, so their action plans are really achievable and the youth are serious to keep expanding the network and doing the work necessary. This was really good practice for us, as we are preparing for a longer NextGEN workshop in November, 6 days.

I will work on the photos and upload to FB and website soon. Will also ask one of the youth to write an article that we can share with our networks.

It will be good if you guys can share any documents you have written up of the process, like workshop outline etc that we can use to adapt for our workshops here. I will also do the same. I've started to share your booklet on the process you used with the children. Everyone loves it!!

Singing out aloud inside....the transformation is happening, lets keep moving and supporting others to work through their change.

Lots of love,

Trudy

Hi Trudy just managed to read this. It's great news and feels like it's very much you. Glad things are becoming clearer and roots are growing deeper. The one year journey with youths is what I dreamt of doing too... right before I left to Philippines after the typhoon.

I'm setting up an urban permaculture garden now and hopefully in about 3 months can start engaging with urban youths regularly while I'm here. Not placing to much expectations on the future though and just taking it one day at a time... learning how to let go and flow.

Had a look at the flyer. It's simple and puts a lot of onus on the participants to be proactive and creative in the application process which is a good filter for only getting those who are truly serious and capable.

Looking forward to reading the outline and sending much love and nurturing to this lil baby of growing roots. Same to Om and Tom.

Hugs
B

Hi dear friends,

Hope you are all doing well and are happy. I feel this year has been a challenging one on many levels, for myself and many others. After a long period, I'm finally finding my core again and reconnecting with what I'm passionate about. I'm starting to step back a bit from the management of Belipola so I can focus more on coordinating and facilitating education works. I'm in the process of forming a new platform (Growing Roots) with some friends in Sri Lanka, to work more with youth and children. Part of this platform will be about design and consulting, and creating links between organisations and networks.

So as this year comes to a close, we are in the process of coordinating a few workshops at Belipola. One will be happening next weekend with youth from select organisations in Sri Lanka. We have about 15 youth coming to Belipola, for this Sustainable Living Workshop. Its based on the NextGEN Empowerment process, and also inspired by Analog Forestry and Pun Pun's sustainable living workshops. I'm finalising the outline this weekend, so can send you that next week.

In November, we will be hosting a longer workshop, this time focusing on promoting more widely, and bringing youth who have a passion and interest in this area. We hope to work with this core group for a longer period of time (up to 1 year), to really engage, inspire and motivate them to be active in their communities. I hope this group will be able to engage with NextGEN regionally and then also at an international level, as we will be selecting youth who have English skills.

The flyer that we designed for this workshop is attached. It would be great if you could have a look at it and give me some feedback. Again for this, I will work on the outline next week and send to you for feedback.

Feeling inspired and motivated again, to finally feel a bit more space in my life to create and design...and most of all to be engaged with young people!!

Thankyou Om and Tom for constantly being a light of inspiration to me. For always keeping the big picture in your mind as you dedicate your life for our future generations.

So much love and gratitude to you!

Trudy
