Hello,

We are opening up a concern here that all of us have, child abuse.

We can't be everywhere, all the time with the child - and in this world a child can be abused anytime or anywhere sexually. We have to empower our children to deal with any kind of unsafe situations.

Here is some data

  • Children of all ages are sexually abused

  • Both boys and girls are equally abused

  • In many cases is it a safe relative or friend that abuses the child

  • Most parents have not done anything to prepare their child against abuse

  • On top of that - most parents have no idea what to do when their child reports such a case.

What you may not know is that according to a detailed study done by Govt. of India 53% of all children (boys and girls) are at some point of time in their childhood abused :-((( - that is SUPER HIGH - eg compare this with chance of getting AIDS is 0.27% and cancer is 4%. Even more scary is that in 70% of cases the child never reported the abuse.

Can we afford our children going through an abuse experience?  Is it not our responsibility to educate our children on how to prevent and fight the abuse!

We are DOING something about this. We are conducting a workshop at our center in Indiranagar,Bangalore  to make parents (and teachers) aware, understand, prepare and empower themselves and their children against abuse.

Also this topic leads very naturally to the concept of EMPOWERMENT - because personal safety is always in the hands of the child. You see I can talk to my friend and get my child a job and help build his career - but I can't protect my child when he is alone at neighbour's or my relative's house! This empowerment (of both parent and the child) bit becomes more important when you realise that report says that 70% of these cases are never reported by children!

The reason for this long email is simple - help us help you to help your children :-)

There are two options for you:

  1. Attend the workshop which is part of Learning Saturdays starting this Saturday (12th July) . Click here for details & register

  2. Get your school/apartment/company to conduct this as part of a bigger group. Contact us for more details on this.

The participants apart from attending the workshop also receive an Empowerment (against abuse) kit.

We are also conducting a parent - toddler program titled Wonder Years on various aspects of child development. Click here for details.
