Hi,

We have a slice: opencdnbind2  and although it has a complicated topology at UtahDDC, i just want to understand the behavior of two nodes. switch1 (bound to pc1) switch2 (bound on pc2).

The link between them (link-0) in the manifest says that it is 500Mbps, but when I run iperf
(udp and tcp) I get something close to 100M (~ 97M). I would think that it is because of oversubscribing but it seems too close to 100M and too steady over time to be that. Is there somewhere that is set to 100M?

Thanks,
Niky

Sounds like you're getting the default 100Mbps bandwidth for the virtual link in GENI racks.  Did you specify a higher speed in the RSPEC?

Hi Heidi,

Niky was helping me debug my problem. I did specify 500Mbps as capacity in the RSpec but got only 100Mbps.

Please find my RSpec attached here.

Thank you.

Hi, can you be more specific please? Between which two nodes are you seeing
100 instead of 500. Please provide exact command lines that you used to
determine this (we want to see what IP addresses you used so we are sure
which link you are talking about, and what nodes you ran those commands on).

Thanks!
Leigh

Hi Leigh,

I tried to reproduce this problem by reserving a bound RSpec with two VMs in different UtahDDC racks but this time I was able to get 500Mbps.

Since I am currently unable to reproduce this problem, I will let you know if I see it again.

Thank you!
