To my knowledge there is no per-user limit on the number of nodes you
can create on a GENI rack. Of course, a given rack can only support a
certain number of VMs or raw machines.
However, you will very likely see failures when you try to create a
large topology in one request. It is best to build large topologies
incrementally. See [1] for a tutorial on scaling up experiments. The
presentation at this link describes one way to do this: Create a "shared
VLAN" and incrementally add VMs to it. If this "shared VLAN" is a
stitched VLAN, you can create a large topology with VMs from multiple racks.
If you use ExoGENI racks, there is a lot more flexibility in making
changes to your topology, including growing it. See [2]
