Hi Aditya,

I am adding geni-users to the distribution. Do you have any raw pcs in
your topology? If you do and they have been idle for a while then you
are not allowed to renew. A slice name and an rspec would be helpful:-)

Best,
Niky

To get your rspec in Flack go to view original request document:
http://grab.by/wklm

For extending your sliver unfortunately you have to contact the Admins
of this aggregate since they are the only ones that might be able to do
something about this.

According to
http://groups.geni.net/geni/wiki/GeniAggregate/UtahProtoGeni the contact
address is: testb...@emulab.net
make sure to include your slice name, why you need this exception and
until when you want your sliver extended.

Best of luck,
Niky

Hi Aditya,

So if you want a resource for a long time then VM is the way to go.
Raw-PCs are a scarce resources and it is preferably to not use them
unless there is a compelling reason to do so, so that they are available
to experimenters that really need them.

If you want to keep something for a long time then VMs is definitely the
way to go.

Both Flack and Omni are equivalent in terms of reserving/renewing
resources since they speak the AM API. Omni is command line and easily
scriptable if you want to automate some processes, Flack is more visual
and you can get to it from the web without having to install anything on
the computer. So it all has to do with your preference/goals and style.

Cheers,
niky
