Hi

I was using the below image while reserving raw-pc from exogeni racks.

But this image failed to boot now. Can anyone provide me an image which can work for raw-pc?

Thanks
Navaz

Hello Navaz,

The image you are trying to load was created for Emulab. At this time
Emulab images cannot be booted up on ExoGENI racks.

According to the ExoGENI development team, the best way for you to
proceed is to boot up CentOS on an ExoGENI bare metal node and install
OVS using:
'yum install openvswitch'

Hi Vic

Thanks for your response. I am running UBUNTU. So I guess i dont have inbuilt exogeni images for OVS.

Can you please give OVS image for instageni resources that should work for raw pc ?

Regards
Navaz

Hello Abdul,

There is an image available on the InstaGENI racks that runs Ubuntu and
has OVS installed in the kernel. The URN of the image is
urn:publicid:IDN+instageni.illinois.edu+image+emulab-ops:Ubuntu12-64-OVS.
If you are using Flack, look for the image called "Ubuntu 12.04 with
OVS for ProtoGENI (by Niky)".

This image will work on raw PCs as well as Xen VMs. I strongly
recommend that you use Xen VMs instead of raw PCs; unless there is a
compelling reason such as performance isolation that requires raw PCs.
There are many more Xen VMs and so your reservation request is more
likely to succeed. It is very rarely the case that an experiment
absolutely requires raw PCs.

Best wishes,
