Image from XEN VMs to raw pcs

Hi,

We have an image that was created on a XEN VM and we want to load it on
a bare meta host. Is that possible?

We are currently getting an error but I don't know if it is just a db
entry change or whether the image will not run any way on the
bare metal host.

In general, yes. Images should be interchangeable.

Fixed, but not sure what went wrong yet. Was this image created on Nysernet,
or imported to Nysernet and then referenced from SOX?

According to Divya, the image was indeed created at Nysernet and then
was referenced from SoX.

Fixed there too. I do not yet know why images are getting set up incorrectly

Thanks! Reservation went through this time.

Noe on a similar problem. I reserved a slice on the NW rack using 4 xen
VMs and this image from the nysernet rack. We needed to change something
so I deleted the sliver and recreated it. To make the process faster I
tried to use the local urn at the nw rack instead of the nysernet url:
urn:publicid:IDN+instageni.northwestern.edu+image+ch-geni-net:nowcastOVS

The nodes booted but they don't seem to have the right image, shall I
always use the URL?

Thanks. I really do not see any reason for it to fail, but just for
kicks, can you please combine the two sliver_type sections into a single
element?

BTW, I did get the 1GB I asked on the second sliver_type so this
indeed might be the problem.

It is the problem; we are not doing something properly in the rspec
parsing code.
