Hello PAWR Community-

We are writing to invite you to join us in Arlington, Virginia on Thursday, April 27 for an Information Day regarding the Platforms for Advanced Wireless Research (PAWR) program.

The PAWR program is a joint effort supported by the National Science Foundation and the PAWR Industry Consortium, a collection of nearly 30 companies representing a wide-range of wireless capabilities. The goal of the PAWR program is to create at-scale testing platforms to accelerate fundamental research on wireless communication and networking technologies. The PAWR Project Office (PPO), run by US Ignite, Inc., and Northeastern University, is managing a $100 million public-private partnership to stand up and oversee wireless testing platforms in at least four communities nationwide.

The April 27 PAWR Information Day event presents a unique opportunity to learn more details about the PAWR program goals and process, including:

  • Technical focus areas for the emerging solutions that PAWR seeks to support
  • Research goals for advanced wireless use cases
  • PPO's role and organization during project selection and project execution
  • “Office hours” with members of the PAWR Project Office to answer any questions
  • “Teaming hours” for attendees to explore opportunities to partner with each other (e.g., a community seeking researchers, or researchers seeking community assistance)

PAWR Information Day will be a full-day event (10:00AM -5:00PM ET) followed by an evening reception/cash bar. We anticipate leaders from local governments, universities, industry, and other stakeholders will attend. Registration for the event is free.

The registration form on the advancedwireless.org website includes an opportunity for individuals interested in PAWR to share information about their organization's technical expertise and research focus to facilitate teaming and partnerships.

We hope to see you at PAWR Information Day on April 27!

Best,
The PAWR Project Office
