I am trying to allocate a sliver at UtahDDC with one node using the
image below but it fails to allocate.
The createsliver operation succeeds, but the sliverstatus returns
overall status of "failed" with a
"notready" status on the node. I see no error message to indicate why
it failed. Could someone
look into why this sliver is failing? It appears to be related to the
image, but I'm not sure what specifically
is going wrong with the image.

Slice urn: urn:publicid:IDN+ch.geni.net:joAutoIMTest+slice+joAutoGIM04

Image: <disk_image
name="https://www.utahddc.geniracks.net/image_metadata.php?uuid=8ca11bd9-abb5-11e3-b858-000000000000"/>

Rspec and sliverstatus output are attached.

Thanks,
--Jeanne

Mystery solved. I just learned that this image has been recently deleted.
I don't know how complicated it would be, but is there a way that an
"image not found" event
could be reflected in the sliverstatus or createsliver output? I
thought I had seen something like that before.

Thanks,

Yep, this needs to be fixed. I’ll put it on my todo ...

Thanks, Leigh.

I also encountered unexpected Flack behavior in this failure condition (i.e. the sliver failed because of deleted image).
In this case, my three link resources were allocated successfully, but the three nodes failed.
However, Flack showed my slice as "green" even though the global status was "failed".

This is what it showed in the logs:
