Hello GENI Users,

Due to a recent change in the Instageni codebase that involved
extending the sshd login port range for VMs you create, some Instageni
racks namely

gatech-ig - GeorgiaTech Instageni

sox-ig - Sox Instageni

kettering-ig - Kettering Instageni

clemson-ig - Clemson Instageni

fail to allow ssh to VMs created by GENI Users. This is due to the
respective campus firewalls preventing access to the newly used extra
sshd ports in the range of 25000 - 29999 . If you have a VMs at any one
of the above mentioned racks and your login to the VM uses a port in the
mentioned range, you may not be able to login even though your VM may
have booted successfully.

We are actively working with the respective campuses to resolve this
issue. In the meantime, you can avoid using these racks in your GENI
Slices. If you absolutely require these racks for your slices, you can
request for a "Publicly Routable IP" for your nodes in the JACKS interface.

Thank you all for your co-operation.

All firewalls at the listed campuses have been updated to allow experimenters ssh login to their VMs.  Access has been tested and verified.
