Mail Chimp seems to have nailed the market for broadcast email, but I am wondering what people recommend for multi-way discussions.

Google groups is great for non-branded discussions, but is anyone using an integrated tool that allows branding as well?

Ideally it should work equally well both via email and via a web page, and not involve SharePoint ;)

Thanks for your suggestions.

Discourse (http://www.discourse.org/) aims to be the new gold standard for online forums, and is very good.

It can also be used as a mailing list because:

- New topics can be posted via email
- Replies are sent our at as emails
- You can reply via email to continue the topic
