Dear colleagues,

The WMO Staff Association would like to consult the FICSA membership on established procedures for international video/teleconferences in place of face-to-face meetings and have the following questions:

Has your organization/staff association/union already put in place a policy/standard practice to replace face-to-face meetings, involving multiple participants that run over a couple of days or more, with a video/teleconference?

if yes:

  1. How many days did the meeting last?

  1. What was the maximum number of participants involved in the video/teleconference?

     c.   How would people in multiple time zones manage such a meeting and how long should these be.

    d. How were time differences managed? i.e. Are participants expected to change their work hours to align with the meeting times?

Did participants have to come into an office or could they connect from home? If no:

a. What is/are the reason/s that prevent/s this from being put into place/practice?

b. Is your organization/staff association/union considering putting this into practice in the future?$

Many thanks. Kind regards
